abstract | <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly safe electric double layer capacitor that has excellent high capacity and high output characteristics and does not generate any heat or ignition in a wide temperature environment from high to low temperature. <P>SOLUTION: The electric double layer capacitor has a polarizing electrode having a polarizing electrode layer including 1-20 pts.mass carbon fiber and 100 pts.mass active carbon. The carbon fiber has a BET specific surface area of 30-1,000 m<SP>2</SP>/g, the amount of lactol group obtained by a neutralization titration method is 50-150 mmol/kg, the amount of hydroxyl group is 50-150 mmol/kg, and no carbon fiber aggregate having a diameter of 5 μm or more is included. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
