abstract | The illuminating device includes an illuminating panel including a plurality of surface light emitting units juxtaposed with each other, and a driving unit that illuminates and drives the illuminating panel in a bright lighting mode or a dark lighting mode that is darker than the bright lighting mode. The illumination device further includes a temperature detection unit that detects the temperature of each of the surface light emitting units and generates a detection output. The drive unit stores the detection output generated by the temperature detection unit during the bright lighting mode for each surface light emitting unit, and during the dark lighting mode, for each surface light emitting unit according to the stored detection output.
