abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermoplastic polyester resin having good flexibility and suitable for extrusion. SOLUTION: The thermoplastic polyester resin consists of (a) an aromatic dicarboxylic acid component, (b) a tribasic or higher carboxylic acid component and/or a trihydric or higher alcohol component, (c) a 1,4-butanediol component, and (d) a polytetramethylene glycol component having a number-average molecular weight of 800 to 3,000, wherein the components (b) are such that the total of the content of the tribasic or higher carboxylic acid in the whole acid components and the content of the trihydric or higher alcohol in the whole alcohol components is 0.05-5 mol% and wherein the component (d) accounts for 20-80 wt.% of the whole polyester resin and has a Shore A hardness of 95 or lower. An extruded article is made by using the resin. |
