abstract | <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a biaxially oriented polyester film that reduces a dimensional change by the environmental change of temperature and humidity and preservation in formation of magnetic recording medium, has a low error rate and produces a high-density magnetic recording medium having little shaving of magnetic head and magnetic tape and excellent running durability. <P>SOLUTION: The biaxially oriented polyester film comprises 70-99 pts.wt. of a polyester and 1-30 pts.wt. of a polyimide and contains 2-15 mol/ton based on the polyester of a compound containing at least one kind of metal element selected from the group consisting of lithium, sodium, potassium, magnesium, titanium, chromium, manganese, cobalt, nickel, copper, zinc and zirconium and has a temperature expansion coefficient in the film width direction of -5.0 to 8.0 ppm/°C and a coefficient of humidity expansion of 0 to 6.0 ppm/%RH. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
