abstract <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive mechanism which is provided with a drive portion, an electrolyte, and opposed electrodes, and in which the drive portion includes a conductive polymer and is formed in an endless belt-like shape or a ring-like shape, the drive mechanism formed by installing the drive poetion on multiple support bodies can be easily fixed, the drive portion xan also be formed as a multi-layered body, and even in such a case the drive mechanism can be easily fixed. <P>SOLUTION: The drive mechanism is provided with: the drive portion which is formed in the endless belt-like shape, the ring-like shape or a winding body; a plurality of support bodies for installing the drive portion and the drive mechanism formed by installing the drive portion on the multiple support bodies.
