abstract | <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner having a sharp charge amount distribution and excellent flowability, giving property image density and extremely little background smear, capable of forming stable images without image blurs, dust and transferring omission against any of transferring media, in particular, responding to a low temperature fixing system while keeping cleaning property even when repeatedly used for a great number of sheets over a long period of time, having favorable anti-offset property without smearing a fixing device and images. <P>SOLUTION: The toner is obtained by: dissolving or dispersing a toner composition containing a binder which comprises a modified polyester resin capable of reacting with a compound having at least an active hydrogen group, a colorant and a release agent, in an organic solvent; dispersing the toner composition solution or the dispersion liquid in an aqueous medium containing resin fine particles as well as subjecting to an elongation reaction; removing the organic solvent from the obtained dispersion liquid; washing; and drying.
