abstract | <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for spacer adequate for formation of spacer image patterns to be arranged on the substrate of a liquid crystal display element, and a spacer, and a liquid crystal display element capable of displaying high-quality image. <P>SOLUTION: The resin composition for the spacer for forming the spacer image pattern on the substrate for a liquid crystal display device contains (1) a resin having at least an allyl group, (2) a resin having at least the allyl group and hydroxyl group or (3) a resin mixture composed of the resin having the allyl group and the resin having the hydroxyl group. The liquid crystal display element is formed by sealing liquid crystals between a pair of the substrates disposed to face each other, in which the spacers of the spacer image patterns arranged on the substrate in order to maintain the specified thickness of the liquid crystal layer are formed of the above resin composition for the spacers. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
