abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for a hybrid vehicle capable of effectively reducing the influence of output degradation of an electric motor in the hybrid vehicle provided with a heat engine and the electric motor as drive sources. SOLUTION: A hybrid vehicle is provided with an engine 10 for generating power by fuel combustion, as a drive source for generating power transmitted to a driving wheel 16 through a power transmission system such as automatic transmissions 13, 14 and an electric motor 12 for generating power on the basis of electric power supply from a fuel cell 20. When a specific control mode requiring high torque is selected, torque assist by the electric motor 12 is performed in a larger degree. Upon detecting the occurrence of a condition causing the output degradation of the electric motor 12, the restriction mode of the specific control mode is changed according to each detected condition to appropriately cope with the condition at that time.
