abstract | Abstract: In an optical disc on which multimedia data including digital image data, audio data, and sub-picture data is recorded, video is disturbed, noise is added to noise, or the sound is interrupted at the angle switching portion during multi-angle playback. A bit stream interleaving method and apparatus that enables seamless playback that switches smoothly between video and audio without any problem. A multi-angle system stream is composed of a plurality of system streams each composed of image data and audio data viewed from different viewpoint positions, and the system stream corresponding to each angle can be freely switched and reproduced in predetermined units during reproduction. In the multi-angle system stream, the display time of the image data and the display time of the audio data included in the system stream corresponding to each angle are set to be the same between the angles for each of the predetermined units in which the angles can be switched. |
