abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect abnormal transmission of a rotational speed signal more accurately. SOLUTION: Using a square wave signal whose frequency increases according to an increase in the angular velocity &omega;ROT of the rotor of a motor as a rotational speed signal NMOT, data on the angular velocity &omega;ROT are transmitted from the running control ECU18 to the power generation control ECU24. In the power generation control ECU24, if an onset or trailing edge does not appear in the rotational speed signal NMOT at prescribed time T1 after the absolute value of current IBi which flows from a battery to an inverter or vice versa exceeds a prescribed value I1 , it is judged that some abnormality is generated in transmission of the rotational speed signal NMOT. A lower limit am be provided for the frequency of the rotational speed signal NMOT, a signal for transmitting the data on the angular velocity &omega;ROT may be used by its voltage value or current value as the rotational speed signal NMOT, and off-set of voltage or current may be applied to the rotational speed signal NMOT.
