In one aspect, the boot includes a footprint outer surface and a strap attachment member (20) that includes a mounting structure adapted to attach a portion of the strap to the snowboard boot, the strap attachment member (20) comprising a boot attachment. A raised portion protrudes beyond the outer surface of the footprint, the raised portion including the mounting structure. In another aspect, a snowboard boot has an outer surface, a sole portion (12), and an adjustable strap attached to an outer surface (18) of the boot upper portion (14), the strap comprising a boot upper portion (14). The strap is adjustable so that it can be selectively tightened and loosened on the outside surface of the strap. The outer surface (18) of the boot upper (14) is formed of at least a first and second material, wherein the first material (46) has a lower coefficient of friction than the second material and has a first coefficient of friction. The material is positioned to be placed under a portion of the strap that is movable to tighten the strap. |
