abstract The present invention provides a minimally invasive gallstone crushing apparatus applicable to gallstones, particularly bilirubin-based stones. The laser generator includes a flexible sheath, a laser light guide tube, and a laser generator such as a free electron laser. The laser generator has a laser beam having a wavelength derived from a stretching motion inherent to an ester bond of gallstone. The laser light generated by the laser generator 5 is emitted from the first distal end portion 13 by guiding the distal end portion 13 of the laser light guide tube 1 inserted into the flexible sheath 3 to a position near the target gallstone. Irradiates gallstones and breaks down by non-thermal action.
