abstract | NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I {R<1> and R<2> are each H or protective group for OH; R<3> is (aromatic group-substituted)5-25C monovalent aliphatic hydrocarbon group or NH-R<4> [R<4> is (aromatic group-substituted)5-25C monovalent aliphatic hydrocarbon group); (m) is 2 or 3; (n) is 1-4}. EXAMPLE:1-Hexanoyl-4-{1-oxo-3-[N-(1-oxo-2,4-diacetoxy-3,3-dimethylbutyl) amino]propyl}piperazine. USE:Having inhibitory activity for acyl CoA-cholesterol-acyl transferase, thus useful for the therapies for hyperlipemia, arteriosclerosis, etc. PREPARATION:The objective compound of the formula I can be obtained by reaction between (A) a compound of formula II (R<11> and R<12> are each protected OH) and (B) a compound of formula R<3>-COZ<1> (Z<1> is H, halogen, alkoxy, etc.) or formula R<4>-NCO using, as necessary, a catalyst or reaction promoter in a solvent such as methylene chloride at temperatures ranging from -78 deg.C to the boiling point of the solvent. |
