EXAMPLE:5-n-Butyl-1-methyl-1H, 5H-imidazo[4,5-c]quinoline-4-one. USE:A bronchodilator and antiallergic agent. PREPARATION:A compound expressed by formula III is reacted with a com pound expressed by the formula R<3>-Z (Z is eliminating group), preferably in the presence of a base (e.g. potassium carbonate or sodium methoxide) to pro vide the compound expressed by formula I (group X is formula II).
