abstract An object of the present invention is to provide an emulsion-type fire-resistant coating material composition which can be formed into a thin film and has excellent fire-resistance performance. The resulting refractory coating composition is provided. SOLUTION: (A) a binder, (B) at least one selected from an azo compound, a hydrazo compound, a nitroso compound and a sulfonyl hydrazide compound, (C) graphite, A solution is a refractory coating material composition comprising (D) a thermally decomposable nitrogen-containing compound and (E) at least one selected from a branched polyhydric alcohol and a saccharide.
