In a method of manufacturing an oxide superconductive material, yttrium-3-ethyl-3-pentoxide and barium-3-ethyl-3-pentoxide are prepared as alkoxides of yttrium and barium. Copper-2-ethylhexanoate, being a carboxylate of copper, is added to the alkoxides to provide a raw material compound. A solvent obtained by mixing t-heptanol and p-xylene in the ratio of 1:5 is added to the raw material compound, to prepare a solution containing the raw material compound. Water is added to the solution thus obtained, which is then stirred to cause hydrolysis and dehydration/condensation reaction, and thereafter the solution is coated on a substrate of polycrystal YSZ. A coating film formed on the substrate is fired, so that a superconductive layer of Y-Ba-Cu-O oxide is formed on the surface of the substrate. |
