titleOfInvention Intracochlear drug delivery hand tool with integrated micropump and drug reservoir
abstract The present disclosure provides a handpiece for transaudally delivering therapeutic substances to the inner ear. The handpiece can be inserted into the middle ear through a surgical myringotomy procedure. The handpiece can be integrated with the micropump and fluid reservoir. The handpiece allows controlled injection of therapeutic substances directly into the inner ear through the round window membrane. Direct delivery of therapeutic agents to the inner ear allows for delivery of precise amounts of therapeutic agents to the inner ear. A micropump can include a self-contained fluid reservoir that can deliver a predetermined amount of fluid to a precise site on the patient. [Selection drawing] Fig. 11A
