titleOfInvention | Bovine milk isolated powdered exosomes, nutritional compositions and methods |
abstract | Bovine milk isolate powdered exosomes contain intact exosomes. The nutritional composition comprises protein, carbohydrate, and/or fat and exosomes isolated from bovine milk. A method of preparing powdered exosomes is: centrifuging bovine milk to form an upper lipid fraction, an intermediate whey fraction, and a first precipitate of cells and cell debris; and centrifuging the separated whey fraction to further remove fat, casein aggregates and cellular debris to form a substantially clear whey fraction; substantially clear milk removing residual cellular debris by microfiltrating the clear fraction; obtaining a precipitate containing the exosomes by centrifuging the microfiltered whey fraction; containing the exosomes in an aqueous medium dissolving the precipitate to provide an exosome suspension without disrupting the exosome membrane by incubating the precipitate; and obtaining powdered exosomes by drying the suspension. A method of reducing the risk of developing insulin resistance, pre-diabetes, or diabetes in a subject or treating a condition thereof utilizes exosomes isolated from bovine milk.
