The present invention relates to nucleic acid molecules, vectors, host cells, or proteins or peptides, or any combination thereof, for use in methods of increasing the efficiency of embryo implantation in an in vitro fertilization program, comprising: (I) at least one nucleic acid the molecule is (a) an HLA-H, HLA-G, HLA-J, HLA-L, HLA-V, HLA-Y, HLA-E, HLA-F polypeptide or a polypeptide with at least 85% identity; is selected from a nucleic acid molecule consisting of a nucleic acid molecule encoding, or a fragment of that nucleic acid molecule comprising at least 150 nucleotides; or (ii) a nucleic acid molecule, vector, host cell, or protein or peptide, or any combination thereof, prior to, concurrently with, and/or after implantation of a fertilized egg or preimplantation embryo into the uterus. contacting a fertilized egg, a fertilized egg, and/or a pre-implantation embryo; or (iii) administering systemically. |
