Perfusion angiography combined with photoplethysmographic imaging for determination of peripheral vascular disease. |
abstract |
A device 13 and method for performing perfusion imaging receives image sequences acquired simultaneously by an X-ray imager 2 and a photoplethysmographic imaging device 3 . When temporally aligned, the change in perfusion state of the perfused organ tissue over time is extracted from the two image sequences and the change in perfusion state at different locations of the perfused organ tissue for display on the display unit 5. An indicative image is generated, which captures both the perfusion properties of the deep organ tissue and the perfusion properties of the superficial organ tissue. The reduction in image signal intensity in photoplethysmography images caused by passage of a bolus with previously administered contrast agent 10 can be used to temporally align two simultaneously acquired image sequences. |
