Methods and systems for separating and recovering entire liquid hydrocarbon samples using an accelerated solvent extractor are disclosed. In this method, the filter is inserted into the bottom portion of the extraction cell of the accelerated solvent extractor. The adsorbent is activated via heating in the furnace and then cooled. At least a portion of the adsorbent is then inserted into the extraction cell and the liquid hydrocarbon sample is introduced into the extraction cell above the adsorbent. The extraction cell containing the sample is placed in the cell tray of the accelerated solvent extractor, and the saturated, aromatic, and resin fractions of the sample are sequentially extracted using the first, second, and third solvents, respectively. .. As a result of this method, the entire liquid hydrocarbon sample is extracted. [Fig. 1B] |
