The present disclosure relates to the use of a closed fluid such as a high density fluid (“z fluid”) or a low density fluid (“a fluid”) to replace the resin in the vat during 3D printing. Further, the a-fluid can function as a protective boundary of the 3D printing resin, where the a-fluid is located on the printing resin. Another embodiment of the present disclosure provides a process of assessing which areas of a computer-aided design (CAD) model utilize the buoyancy provided by a closed fluid, resulting in a CAD model without closed fluid. Compared to printing, less support structure is required to print the final CAD model. |
