abstract | An object of the present invention is to improve the matching of imaging directions between oblique images of the same oblique type but different imaging protocols. A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus includes image acquisition means, geometry parameter generation means, oblique image determination means, and oblique image generation means. The image acquisition means acquires pilot image three-dimensional volume data. A geometry parameter generating means generates geometry parameters including the imaging direction of the oblique image. The oblique image determination means determines a plurality of imaging protocols and oblique types of oblique images according to an examination order. The oblique image generating means generates a plurality of types of oblique images corresponding to a plurality of imaging protocols and oblique types using geometry parameters for each formal 3D volume data acquired for each imaging protocol.
