abstract | Kind Code: A1 A method of manufacturing a toner for developing an electrostatic charge image is provided in which contamination of coarse toner is reduced. A method for producing a toner for developing an electrostatic charge image includes an aggregation step of forming aggregated particles by aggregating binder resin particles in a dispersion liquid containing binder resin particles, and heating the dispersion liquid containing the aggregated particles. and a coalescing step of fusing and coalescing the aggregated particles to form toner particles, wherein the coalescing step includes heating the dispersion containing the aggregated particles to 80° C. or higher, and increasing the temperature of the dispersion containing the aggregated particles. adding an acid and a surfactant to the dispersion containing the agglomerated particles after the temperature reaches 80°C.
