abstract | An image forming method capable of imparting an image formed product having sufficient water resistance (fastness to wet rubbing) without impairing the texture of a fabric is provided. The image forming method of the present invention comprises a step of applying a first post-treatment liquid containing 2% by mass or more of a water-swellable resin (A) and water onto a fabric to form a coating film; and applying a second post-treatment liquid containing a water swelling inhibitor (B) and water onto the coating film. On the surface of the coating film, the water swelling inhibitor (B) reacts or interacts with the water swelling resin (A) to reduce the water swelling degree of the water swelling resin (A).
