abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for determining a therapeutic effect of a melanoma patient with minimal invasiveness and high accuracy. SOLUTION: This includes a step of detecting circulating tumor cells in blood expressing a melanoma cell marker gene and a pathological condition determination marker gene in a biological sample collected from a melanoma patient, and measuring the cell number of the cells over time. The problem is solved by a method of determining the therapeutic effect of a melanoma patient, in which the fluctuation in the number of cells is used as a determination index of the therapeutic effect of the patient.
