Insulin secretagogue peptide |
abstract |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a peptide which promotes insulin secretion and its utilization. SOLUTION: Through the search for insulin secretagogue factors present in the culture supernatant (BA-SUP) of human pluripotent stem cell-derived brown adipocytes, a physiologically active peptide that promotes insulin secretion was identified. Through the development of a peptide that mimics the peptide, it was found that a short chain linear peptide capable of forming an α-helix structure exhibits a strong insulin secretagogue activity. It was also discovered that the peptide becomes an active substance with an enhanced insulin secretagogue action by heat treatment under acidic conditions or by freeze-drying after dissolution in a buffer solution. The peptide showed an action of acting on pancreatic β cells to promote insulin secretion and lowering blood glucose level in vivo. The peptide group according to the present invention is expected to be applied to the development of therapeutic agents for glucose metabolism disorders. [Selection diagram] FIG. 15 |
