abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyamide having excellent thermal strength, thermal rigidity, impact resistance and LLC resistance, and a polyamide composition containing the polyamide. A polyamide has a dicarboxylic acid unit containing a terephthalic acid unit, a 1,4-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid unit, and a diamine unit containing an aliphatic diamine unit. The content of the terephthalic acid unit with respect to all the dicarboxylic acid units is 55 mol% or more and 85 mol% or less, and the content of the 1,4-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid unit is 15 mol% or more and 45 mol% or less.
