SOLUTION: In the method for producing an addition condensation product, an aromatic compound, a carbonyl compound and a catalyst are mixed in a reaction solvent, and an addition condensation reaction between the aromatic compound and the carbonyl compound is carried out at 60 ° C. or higher and 97 ° C. The following steps are carried out to obtain an addition condensate of the aromatic compound and the carbonyl compound, and in the step of obtaining the addition condensate, 0.1 mol of the carbonyl compound is added to 1 mol of the aromatic compound.
