PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging material for a battery having excellent moldability. SOLUTION: The base material layer is composed of a laminate having at least a base material layer, an adhesive layer, a barrier layer, and a heat-sealing resin layer in this order, and the base material layer includes a polyester film layer and a polyamide film layer. A packaging material for a battery, wherein a first adhesive layer is provided between the adhesive layer and the first adhesive layer, and the hardness of each of the adhesive layer and the first adhesive layer is 50 MPa or less as measured by the nanoindentation method.
