The present invention relates to the use of carbamate-β-phenylethanolamine analogs to upregulate the LDL receptor, promote uptake of extracellular LDL cholesterol, and reduce intercellular total cholesterol. The present invention also relates to using a carbamate-β-phenylethanolamine analog with a statin or other lipid lowering agent as a combination therapy for synergistic effects and side effect reduction in reducing LDL cholesterol. |
