titleOfInvention Hydrogen processing unit with power recovery turbine
abstract Methods and equipment for recovering power in the hydrogen treatment process are described. This method involves the use of a power recovery turbine in place of or in addition to the control valve. The hydrocarbon feed stream is combined with a portion of the hydrogen stream. The combined streams are heated and the heated streams are introduced into a hydrogen treatment reaction zone with at least two beds. The heated stream is brought into contact with the first hydrogen treatment catalyst to form the first hydrogen treatment stream. At least a portion of the hydrogen stream is combined with the first hydrogenated stream to form a first quenched hydrogenated stream. The first quenched hydrogenated stream is brought into contact with the second hydrogenated catalyst to form a second hydrogenated stream. At least a portion of the second portion of the hydrogen stream is directed through a power recovery turbine to generate electricity. [Selection diagram] Fig. 1
