titleOfInvention | Automatic nucleic acid sample preparation, detection and analysis system |
abstract | As used herein, automated nucleic acid sample preparation, detection and analysis systems are described along with methods of operating such systems. In addition, a method for analyzing nucleic acid molecules in a sample and a method for creating a melting curve of a nucleic acid sample will be described. The automated system is mobile in a horizontal plane and is a robot pipettor with one or more pipettes configured to dispense or collect one or more liquids; configured to transfer multiple concatenated sample processing tubes. Robot arm; a first sample processing tube holder configured to hold a plurality of connected sample processing tubes and a magnetic body, and magnetically responsive particles placed in each sample processing tube are magnetic bodies. A nucleic acid isolation system that is held in the sample processing tube for liquid recovery by the robot pipettor when is active; and a bottom configured to hold multiple linked sample processing tubes. Includes a second sample processing tube holder that is transparent or open and a light source, and a fluorescence photometer, configured to detect fluorescence emitted from a sample in one or more sample processing tubes.
