PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inorganic antiviral agent exhibiting an excellent antiviral action not only against an enveloped virus but also against a non-enveloped virus. The inorganic antiviral agent of the present invention comprises metal-doped silica. Examples of the metal include copper, aluminum, zirconium, cobalt, manganese, and iron. The inorganic antiviral agent of the present invention may be used in a form in which silica doped with a metal is contained in a slurry prepared by suspending the silica in a dispersion medium.
