abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planar light source and a method for manufacturing a planar light source capable of reducing light absorption in the vicinity of the light source. A planar light source is a wiring board and a light guide plate arranged on the wiring board, and penetrates a first main surface, a second main surface, and a first main surface to a second main surface. A light guide plate including a first hole portion, a light source arranged on a wiring board located in the first hole portion, and a wiring board located between an inner side surface of the first hole portion and a side surface of the light source in a plan view. It includes a first light-reflecting member arranged above and a second light-reflecting member arranged on the second main surface side of the light guide plate. The diffuse reflectance for the light emitted by the light source of the first light-reflecting member is higher than the diffuse reflectance for the light emitted by the light source of the second light-reflecting member.
