| abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and highly safe preventive / therapeutic agent for deafness or tinnitus which can be ingested on a daily basis. In addition, to provide a method for evaluating the preventive or therapeutic effect of deafness, and a method for producing a model animal for deafness. A composition for preventing or treating deafness or tinnitus, which comprises Lactococcus lactis subspecis lactis G50 strain (FERM P-18415) or an extract thereof as an active ingredient. In addition, a step of dividing non-human animals into an animal group to which the test substance is administered and an animal group to which the test substance is not administered; and for each of the above animal groups, a hearing measurement is performed, and then a loud sound is constant. Provided is a method for evaluating the preventive or therapeutic effect of hearing loss or tinnitus, which includes a step of repeating time-telling multiple times. Further, the present invention provides a method for producing a deafness model animal, which comprises repeating a step of making a non-human animal hear a loud sound for a certain period of time a plurality of times.
