| abstract |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To include an instrument, a system, and a method for suturing a wound, an incision, or another opening. The instrument comprises a roller mechanism configured to rotatably support two substantially parallel rollers configured to engage a shaft of a spiral needle between them. It has a tip at the front end, pulls out the filament from the rear end, has a first spiral radius, and the needle is a body in which the needle pierces the body and the filament is placed adjacent to the first roller. It is rotatable around a first roller having a roller radius smaller than the spiral radius of the needle so that it can be pulled out through. The motor drive unit is operably connected to the roller mechanism so as to transmit a rotational force for rotating two substantially parallel rollers. The controller is operably coupled to the motor drive and is configured to complete at least one turn on the needle to form a single suture on the body. [Selection diagram] Fig. 1 |
