abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound and a composition in which a quaternary agent unit is linked to a targeting ligand unit and a tertiary amine-containing agent is released from the targeting unit of action. Compounds, as well as compositions, are disclosed in which a quaternary agent unit is linked to a targeting ligand unit from which a tertiary amine-containing agent is released in the action target unit. Methods of using the compounds and compositions of the present invention to treat diseases characterized by targeted abnormal cells, such as cancer, or autoimmune diseases, are also disclosed.
