abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for purifying a polymer. This method is part of a production process in which a virgin polymer is produced by a polymerization process using at least one monomer or comonomer as a feedstock. The monomer or comonomer is selected from the group consisting of organic polar monomers, inorganic monomers, vinyl aromatic monomers, conjugated diene and mixtures thereof. In this method, the solid, liquid or molten polymer is brought into contact with a fluid solvent or extraction fluid in the supercritical or near supercritical state. The contact is made at a controlled temperature and pressure, which allows the fluid solvent to diffuse into the polymer and extract impurities intended for removal. This method can be used to remove at least 10% or at least 20% or at least 50% of target impurities from the polymer. [Selection diagram] Fig. 1 |
