PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety valve which opens quickly when an operating temperature rises. SOLUTION: A safety valve for an outlet opening of a pressure vessel filled with a particularly pressurized gas or liquid medium, for flowing a medium and a housing 25 having an inlet opening 26 connectable to the outlet opening of the pressure vessel. A passage opening 28 that connects the inlet opening 26 to the outlet opening 27 of the housing and a valve seat 29 arranged in the passage opening 28 that can be closed by the valve closing member 31 are provided by a heat-operable closing element 35.
