SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a planar light source includes a step of arranging a light reflecting member in a first region including a light source arranging portion of a wiring substrate, a step of preparing a light guide plate including a first hole portion, and a light source arranging. The process of arranging the light source on the light-reflecting member of the portion and the light guide plate are arranged on the wiring substrate so that the light source is located in the first hole portion so that the wiring board and the second main surface of the light guide plate face each other.
