abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-purity protamine sulfate which can be used for pharmaceuticals, foods, cosmetics and the like. A protamine sulfate containing peptide A, peptide B, peptide C, and peptide D having a specific amino acid sequence as a main component and further containing at least one sub-component, wherein the sub-component is the protamine. When the sulfate is analyzed by a specific HPLC, the formula: relative retention time = retention time of subcomponent (minutes) / retention time of peptide D (minutes), relative retention time of subcomponent to peptide D (RRT) However, peptide T of 0.75 to 0.87, peptide U of 0.84 to 0.96, peptide V of 0.85 to 0.99, peptide W of 0.89 to 1.02, 1.09 to A protamine sulfate which is peptide X of 1.24, peptide Y of 1.21-1.37, or peptide Z of 1.25-1.41.
