PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical material having a high near-infrared cut rate and excellent design, a polymerizable composition for an optical material, a plastic lens, eyewear and an optical sensor. A CIE1976 (L *, a *, b *) color when measured at a thickness of 2 mm, containing a (thio) urethane resin or episulfide resin and a near-infrared absorber composed of a specific phthalocyanine compound. Optical materials, polymerizable compositions for optical materials, plastic lenses, eyewear and optical sensors in which a * is −0.8 or more and 10 or less and L * is 70 or more in space.
