PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To treat wounds such as leg ulcers, venous congestive ulcers, pressure ulcers, severe burns, traumatic injuries and large surgical wounds such as abdominal wall plasty and other types of surgical tissue flaps in diabetic patients. Alternatively, methods and compositions for promoting their healing are provided. A novel for treating wounds and promoting their healing, comprising a composition comprising a carrier and a novel combination of recombinant platelet-derived growth factor with less isoform and enhanced biostability. The composition is described. Also described are methods of treating a wound with a novel therapeutic composition using a dosing procedure that yields effective results with a minimum number of treatment applications. In some embodiments, the wound can extend into or beyond the subcutaneous tissue, or the wound can be a diabetic foot ulcer. [Selection diagram] None |
