abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an aromatic polycyanurate without using a highly harmful chemical product. SOLUTION: A raw material containing a triazine compound (A) represented by the general formula (1), a dihydroxy compound (B) represented by the general formula (2) and a catalyst (X) is subjected to a polycondensation reaction. A method for producing an aromatic polycyanurate, which comprises a step of polymerizing under the condition that the minimum pressure of the above is 600 Pa or less. (In general formula (1), L 1 and L 2 are independently aryloxy groups; Z 1 is a hydrogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted linear or branched chain of 1 to 30 carbon atoms. Alkyl groups, substituted or unsubstituted cycloalkyl groups having 5 to 20 carbon atoms, substituted or unsubstituted aryl groups having 6 to 20 carbon atoms, substituted or unsubstituted aralkyl groups, amino groups, and substituted or unsubstituted directs. It is selected from the group consisting of a chain or branched chain of alkoxy groups having 1 to 30 carbon atoms. In the general formula (2), Ar is a divalent aromatic group.)
