Positive electrode active material for non-aqueous electrolyte secondary batteries and its manufacturing method |
abstract |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive electrode active material capable of improving the output characteristics of a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery. A lithium compound is added to and mixed with a transition metal composite hydroxide obtained by a crystallization reaction, and the obtained lithium mixture is fired in an atmosphere having an oxygen concentration of 4% by volume or more. In this firing step, the carbon dioxide concentration in the atmosphere during holding at the firing temperature is maintained at 10% by volume or less, preferably 0.01% by volume to 10% by volume. As a result, a positive electrode active material composed of a lithium transition metal composite oxide composed of secondary particles formed by aggregating a plurality of primary particles and having a carbon content of 0.010% by mass to 0.100% by mass is produced. obtain.
