abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which is excellent in convenience and speed and can detect the presence or absence of bacteria in a blood sample with high sensitivity. SOLUTION: A culture of a blood sample derived from a subject is mixed with ammonium chloride to obtain a hemolytic sample (a); a step of filtering the hemolytic sample with a filtration membrane having a pore size that does not allow bacteria to pass through (b). ); The step (c) of collecting the residue trapped in the filtration membrane after the filtration treatment to obtain a residual sample, and analyzing whether or not the residual sample contains bacteria using a mass analyzer.
