abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrial scale and efficient method for producing a 4,4,4-trifluoroacetoacetanilide compound. Equation (1) [In the formula, X 1 and X 2 are halogen atoms, and R is a 6-membered heterocyclic group. ] In the condensation reaction between the compound and ethyl 4,4,4-trifluoroacetoacetate, a solvent immiscible with water was used to distill off by-produced ethanol and a part of the solvent, and the distillate and water were separated. Contact is used to extract ethanol into water and reflux the solvent into the reaction mixture, formula (2).
