abstract |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emulsion containing an NK-1 receptor antagonist. Disclosed herein are novel pharmaceutical formulations of neurokinin-1 (NK-1) receptor antagonists suitable for parenteral administration, including intravenous administration. Also included is a formulation containing both an NK-1 receptor antagonist and sodium dexamethasone phosphate. The pharmaceutical formulation is a stable oil-in-water emulsion for the parenteral treatment of vomiting (emesis) and is particularly useful for the treatment of subjects undergoing highly emetic cancer chemotherapy.
