abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel heat-resistant member having both high corrosion resistance against high-temperature corrosive gas and high emissivity. A heat-resistant member 10b includes a base material 20 made of isotropic graphite, and a single-layer or multi-layer coating 30b formed on all or part of the surface of the base material 20. The coating film 30b contains a single-layer or multi-layered dense WC layer 32 containing WC as a main component and having a porosity of less than 3%. The coating film 30b may further include a single-layer or multi-layered porous WC layer 34 formed on all or part of the surface of the dense WC layer 32.
